{ school report }
We are now about two weeks into the school year, and Turtle could not be happier.
He loved school last year, and we were very pleased with pretty much everything from the classroom to the teacher to the projects and end of year portfolio. Turtle thrived in the preschool setting and we were sorry to see the "academic" year end.
But something has definitely changed between preschool and VPK.
Turtle is into it. Really, really into it.
When we pick him up at the end of his day, he chatters explosively about his friends, what they did, where they sat, what they played. He tells us all about his Spanish lesson or chapel time or PE. He shares with us stories from the playground or what letters they worked on or if he got to be line leader or door holder or light switcher.
This kid will belt out a mashup of God Bless America and Old MacDonald that will bring you to your knees.
And by the way? The vowel song that he belts out before bed is simply amazing.
I am so happy for him. And so proud. It is clear that he has really clicked with his teacher, her assistant and his peers. He is so very engaged and enthusiastic and I am loving it!
More importantly, so is he.
